Soundtrack Saturday - Invincible

This week I've got another rocking track straight from the Eighties.

Invincible, by Pat Benatar.

Lyrics:
This bloody road remains a mystery.
This sudden darkness fills the air.
What are we waiting for ?
Won't anybody help us ?
What are we waiting for ?
We can't afford to be innocent
stand up and face the enemy.
It's a do or die situation - we will be invincible.

This shattered dream you cannot justify.
We're gonna scream until we're satisfied.
What are we running for ? We've got the right to be angry.
What are we running for when there's nowhere we can run to anymore ?
We can't afford to be innocent
stand up and face the enemy.
It's a do or die situation - we will be invincible.
And with the power of conviction there is no sacrifice.
It's a do or die situation - we will be invincible.

Won't anybody help us ?
What are we running for when there's nowhere

nowhere we can run to anymore ?
We can't afford to be innocent
stand up and face the enemy.
It's a do or die situation - we will be invincible.
And with the power of conviction there is no sacrifice.
It's a do or die situation - we will be invincible.

We can't afford to be innocent
stand up and face the enemy.
It's a do or die situation - we will be invincible.
We can't afford to be innocent
stand up and face the enemy.
It's a do or die situation - we will be invincible.

  1. You have just taken me back to my own favourite:
"Love is a battlefield" by the same artist, which I've just played on YouTube. Much thanks!

  2. Great song. And they performed Love is a Battlefield on The Voice this week - it was great.
Funny how lyrics have different meanings to you at different times. I've been thinking about the environment so much this week, because of the wildfires we've had and the smoke in the air. With all the weather changes and disasters I feel like we are being told to take charge of our planet - we need to stand up and face the enemy that puts greed before nature. Wow, didn't know I'd get all preachy, but hey, you posted the song! :-)
